We extract model-based quantities through controlled rules and explicit scope mapping. Each total remains traceable to elements, assumptions and exclusions.

A schedule total is not automatically a valid take-off.

Model-based quantity take-off converts classified elements and parameters into measurable work quantities. Lengths, areas, volumes, counts and weights are extracted according to stated rules and mapped to the relevant cost or bill item.

Models are rarely authored solely for measurement. Elements may be split differently from work items, assemblies may contain duplicate measurable layers, and temporary or minor scope may not be modelled at all.

CNE reviews model suitability before extraction and reconciles geometry with the measurement basis. Unmodelled scope, allowances and exclusions remain explicit so the take-off can be checked and updated rather than accepted as a black-box total.
