BIM for road design, drainage, bridges, tunnels and airports
We prepare the BIM model and run the multidisciplinary coordination on civil infrastructure projects. Our own engineers, in our own offices, working to Singapore, European and Australian codes — and every model is checked by an engineer before it leaves us.
What we work on
Roads and junctions. Bridges. Tunnels. And the road corridor, drainage and buried services around airport developments — the works that have to stay open while the terminal is built behind them.
Under each of them the same civil scope: horizontal alignment and vertical levels, crossfalls, kerbs and footpaths, rigid and flexible pavement, mill and patch where new meets existing, road markings and signs, street lighting, traffic lights and CCTV with their ducting and foundations, drains, gullies and chambers, sewers, ICT ducts and manholes, retaining structures and earthworks, and the temporary works for each stage.
Rail sits inside that same scope — same disciplines, same software, same checks — and we take rail packages on the same terms as the rest.
Road design BIM
Horizontal alignment and vertical levels, crossfalls and superelevation, kerbs, footpaths and edge lines, rigid and flexible pavement build-up, mill and patch where new meets existing, road markings, signs, street lighting, traffic lights and CCTV with their ducting and foundations, and the earthworks tying the new formation into existing ground.
The corridor is modelled in Civil 3D against existing survey and existing services from the start, so the levels are tested against what is already in the ground rather than against a clean sheet. Where the road is built in stages, each stage is modelled in the sequence it will be constructed.
Drainage and sewer design BIM
Roadside drains, gullies and chambers, pipe runs, invert levels and outfalls. Sewer runs, manholes and connection levels. ICT ducts, draw pits and the utility crossings that run between them.
All of it modelled with the road, so the falls work against the finished levels and not against an assumed surface. On upgrading work the new system is staged against the old one, so the existing drainage keeps running while the new is built.
What you get
Road corridor, structures, drains, sewers and buried utilities modelled in three dimensions against existing ground and existing services, at the level of development the construction stage actually requires.
Road, drainage, utilities, structural, traffic and landscape arrive from different design offices, in different formats and at different times. We bring them into one model on a common coordinate system and datum.
Each discipline checked against the others, every clash recorded and taken back to the office that owns it, and closed before excavation. Each stage is modelled in the sequence it will be built, with the temporary arrangement alongside the permanent one, so staging can be checked against the traffic management before a lane is closed.
Construction issue drawings, schedules and as-builts from our drafting team. Setting-out coordinates and finished levels are read from the model, not re-measured off a drawing.
